iPower.com has a good deal on domain names. They charge just $2.95 for the first year for any domain extension they offer (.com, .net, etc.). After the first year, the cost goes up to $8.25 a year, which is still a competitive rate.

I’m a little amazed at how quickly camera prices have dropped while pixel count has gone through the roof. Perfect example: Sony Cybershot DSC-S600 6MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom. Amazon is selling this 6 megapixel name-brand camera for $189.94 shipped. We’re all used to technology getting constantly cheaper and better, but I don’t know of a better example of that than the digital camera market.

Amazon to take on iTunes

Amazon will be taking on Apple and iTunes with its own music service and MP3 player, according to the Wall Street Journal. Excerpt:

Now Amazon, the world’s No. 1 online retailer, is in advanced talks with the four global music companies about a digital-music service with a range of features designed to set it apart. Among them: Amazon-branded portable music players, designed and built for the retailer, and a subscription service that would deeply discount and preload those devices with songs, not unlike mobile phones that are included with subscription plans as part of the deal.

The service could be rolled out by summer, according to the WSJ.
